Less OPs means better results

The June - Contest report 2007 (by DL2ALF) :

This time the contest report is as small as the crew taking part in the June Microwave Contest 2007. Due to QRL, illness and family agreements we were only a few people to handle both equipment and QSO load.

Preparations and setup works went as usual, only small modifications were made to the 3/6cm mast placement.  After 1400UT the only two OPs (DL2ARD, DL2ALF) were "chained" into the microwave shack until 0200UT in the morning. A really hard job to be continued on Sunday morning after 3 hours of sleep.

There were some real highlights too. We were happy to have some guys from DF0YY as our guests. They brought their 24/47GHz - equipment with them and we could take a look and had nice discussions about mm-equipment in general. After that we started some receiving experiments on 47 and 76 GHz. Late in the afternoon they decided to drive to the Goldisthal pumped storage power station for some contest QSOs : success on 24/47GHz, nil on 76GHz.

Another highlight on Sunday was the short visit of our team member Frank, DL1WA, to the Klinovec to meet OK1VAM and OK1AIY there, btw the first visit of any DL OP to this place. As a result we could log another QSO on 24GHz but nil on 47GHz due to bad weather.

The weather was not too bad. No rain, but foggy and almost no sunshine. The propagation was normal we suffered a bit from the lack of western activity, such as PA and G.

Surprisingly the results were fine and we could top even the results of May contest. Here is a short overview :

Band QSOs ODX Call ODX Loc ODX km
1.2GHz 195 HA6W KN08 756
2.3GHz 84 IQ1KW JN34 726
3.4GHz 34 OM0C JN88 535
5.6GHz 25 OK5Z JN89 398
10GHz 65 OM0C JN88 535
24GHz 13 OK1AIY/P JO60 156
47GHz 6 OK1AIY/P JO60 156
76GHz 1 DL2ALI/P JO50 34

Thank you all for the points and hope to cuagn in July.
