10GHz

We have now three stations running on 3cm. The most common design is based on the new 10GHz Mk II by DB6NT completed with a OCXO by DF9LN. The first (and oldest) is made by DL2ALI and completed with abt. 3W. The second one is made by DL6AUI and can be mast mounted as well as on a tripod. It is now used as 24GHz talkback. The third (and brand new) is one of the MK III - transverter line bay DL6AUI. It is our mast mounted running station since March 2004 :

Technical data

Transverter system based on 144MHz IF designed by DB6NT. The meters were mounted at the end of the waveguide and measured @ DB6NT April 2004.

Output :            4.9W
Noise figure :    1.9dB
Gain :              21dB
Antenna :          60cm dish
Rx/Tx-switch :    coaxial relay (24V)
DC supply :        13.8V

The construction is straight forward : the compact transverter MKU10G2 is followed by the 5W-PA MKU102X. A DF9LN - OCXO is added to get more stability. In the centre : a PROCOM coax/waveguide - transition. On the left : PCBs for 12/24V - transverter and meter amplifier.

The equipment is completed with a 60cm parabolic dish, which is mast mounted since October '01. Transverter 2 and 3 can both mounted either on mast and on tripod. See an older picture of the dish on a tripod operated by DL2ARD (63 l) and DL6AUI (53 l).
